The Royal Princess(es)

A little Princess was born a few days ago!

And my little Princesses turned 9 a few days ago!!!

Oh Princess Kate, get ready for the days to fly by as Charlotte Elizabeth Diana

grows far too quickly into a lovely lady!

 A dinner party with an ice cream sundae bar was all they wanted.

And pink balloons!

 

Thank you Target for having gold letters and glittered gold numbers just when I needed them!

 

 

  

 

 

I feel so very blessed to have 2 Royal Princesses who still love pink and sparkle!

Happy 9th Birthday little ladies.

ARMY 6

This year we tried to persuade the children to forgo birthday parties and just take a family trip to LEGOLAND.  However, the little guy couldn't wrap it around his head.

"That sounds great!  And my party will be an Army Party."

"No buddy, we're not going to have parties this year.  Our trip will be your party!"

"OK.  And when we get back we can have an Army Party."

Oh forget it!

So, we decided to go totally simple (my mom is laughing!) and invite a few close friends, raid Daddy's closet for Army stuff and spend maybe $20 at the Dollar Store.

 

 The only thing I made was the cake, thanks to Pintrist for the fun idea!

 

 Each kiddo threw on some Army camo and posed with the flag.

 

 Then PT began

 

We set up a fun obstacle course of a Paratrooper Drop, Belly Crawl, Zig Zag run, Grenade Toss, and Fortress Escape!

 Gotta love Dollar Store balloons!!

 

 

Then to the Chow Hall for dinner.

 

We prayed for all the men and women that serve our country.

 

After dinner they were given their secret mission assignment and camo face paint!

 

We hid (aka threw) about 120 tiny army men all over the back yard. 

Each soldier was issued a flash light, compass, and glow stick.

 

In the dark, their mission was to rescue the MIA soldiers and return them to safety before the enemy tagged them.  They needed to use their training earlier to be quiet, quick and strong!

 

If they got tagged by the enemy, they had to hand over all their MIA tiny Army men and crack their glow stick and hold it above their head and wait for a fellow soldier to come free them.

 

After the mission was accomplished, we went back to the Chow Hall and celebrated!

 

Then back out to the dark to play with sparklers.

A great night was had by all and truly...

Mack's 4th Birthday

Like I mentioned,

Our little dude turned 4 a few weeks ago and last Saturday we got to celebrate with family and friends!

He is obsessed with cars.  He can name every make of car driving down the street and I'll ask him, "how do you know that is a Corvette?"  His response, "look at the tail lights Mommy!" 

All he wanted was a "Camero, Corvette, Mustang Birthday" so I did my best to make that happen.

And before you're even slightly impressed, let me just say I'm really good at copying!  Pintrist offered great ideas and SIMONE made it gave some super cute printables!!

The kids started at Driver Registration where they received their pit pass, drivers license, and a car.

 

 

Then they had to take their official Mack's Motor Speedway photo!

 

 

 

 Outside we set up various race tracks for the children to play with.

 

 

And Daddy built an amazing race track just for the party!

 

 

 

I kept the food simple by ordering pizza! (I'm learning!) and simply made the cake and cupcakes (recipe to come - it's my favorite chocolate cake recipe!)

 

 

 

Our artistic Daddy did the chalk boards!

Some popcorn, pretzles, and goldfish crackers for "Nuts and Bolts" snacks

 

Perhaps this was my one original idea - I stopped by the Camero dealer early one morning and took some photos.  Then I went and had them blown up at Staples for $7!  Super fun!



 

 

The Grandmas and Great Auntie made great Race Cheerleaders!

 

 

 

Each kiddo went home with their Hot Wheele, a small trophy, a small wooden car that they got to decorate and a wheele yo-yo!

A great time was had by all!
