I've never made a pie before and this year I thought I'd give it a try!
I felt a little lot like Martha Stewart!
The pies were beautiful
The crust was flaky and yummy
And... here's the truth - if a recipe says there's a difference between apples and which ones are better for baking... THEY'RE RIGHT! I of course didn't believe them and used my favorite variety which didn't bake up well and made for a less than delicious apple pie! Oh well, I'll do better next year!
Haha! That is SO me. Using my own fav apples...I'm horrible at pies..although I've never really made one. I just mastered cookies after years of burning them. Literally years. Thank you parchment paper!!! I can bake a perfect cookie now! I love these photos!
ReplyDeleteI attempted some baking this holiday too (and I am not a cook)! Way to go!
ReplyDeletewow you are a gorgeous momma! love the house too!!
ReplyDeletego you! And I'm with Elle. And this is random, did you find your engagement ring?

ReplyDeleteis it the pie or the ring you are showing off? Hooray...it arrived!!!
ReplyDeleteNo Lyric, we never found my engagement ring. Yes Gretchen, the new one arrived and I feel like one lucky lady!!! xoxoxo
ReplyDeleteVery cute pics... Oh and about the tree. I really think I might be a convert. We probably wouldn't do the train again, but it was so worth it. I have no idea how tall the tree is, but it's bigger than any we've ever had and it was $41.00.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful girls!!!!! And yummy. :)
